Healing happens in relationship.

That simple belief is at the heart of everything I do.

I believe every person has an innate capacity to heal. My role as a therapist is not to fix you or tell you who you should become, but to create the conditions where healing, growth, and self-discovery can naturally unfold. Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" I am more interested in asking, "What happened to you?" and "How have your experiences shaped the ways you learned to survive?"

Our thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationship patterns all make sense in the context of our lived experiences. The strategies that once protected us may eventually begin to limit us, but they deserve compassion rather than judgment. Together, we become curious about these patterns, honoring the wisdom they once held while creating space for new ways of relating—to yourself, to others, and to the world around you.

At the heart of my work is attachment theory and the understanding that our earliest relationships profoundly shape how we experience ourselves, others, and the world. Many of the wounds we carry were created in relationship, and I believe they are also repaired through relationship. Therapy offers a unique opportunity to experience a relationship grounded in safety, authenticity, curiosity, and compassion—one where new patterns can emerge and old survival strategies no longer have to define your life.

My work is deeply relational, integrating both professional training and lived experience. For more than twenty years, I have maintained a dedicated meditation and yoga practice that continues to shape how I show up as both a therapist and a human being. These practices have taught me that healing is less about becoming someone new and more about remembering who we are beneath fear, trauma, and the protective adaptations that once kept us safe.

I integrate a variety of evidence-informed and experiential approaches, including The Hakomi Method, The Gottman Method, Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM) Protocol, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Psychodynamic Therapy, Systems Theory, Person-Centered Therapy, mindfulness, and a Harm Reduction philosophy. Rather than relying on a single therapeutic model, I thoughtfully weave these perspectives together, tailoring our work to your unique story, relationships, and goals.

I also offer the Five Needle Protocol (5NP), a gentle auricular acupuncture treatment that complements psychotherapy by supporting nervous system regulation. This evidence-informed, non-verbal approach can help reduce stress, anxiety, trauma symptoms, emotional overwhelm, and burnout, creating greater capacity for reflection, presence, and connection. As the first Registered Trainer and an officer of 5NP Texas, I also train licensed healthcare professionals across Texas to integrate this work into behavioral healthcare, disaster response, community wellness initiatives, and support for helping professionals, veterans, and first responders.

Nature is another essential part of my therapeutic philosophy. I believe we are not separate from the natural world but deeply connected to it, and that nature gently invites us back into relationship with ourselves. Away from constant distraction, we often rediscover perspective, resilience, and an inner wisdom that has been there all along. For the past five years, I have had the privilege of co-facilitating immersive women's backcountry retreats in the mountains of Colorado. These experiences combine mindfulness, authentic community, embodiment, and the restorative power of wild places, creating opportunities for profound reflection and transformation. Time and again, I have witnessed how nature softens our defenses, deepens self-awareness, and reminds us that growth, like every season, unfolds in its own time.

One question I am often asked is why I choose not to participate as an in-network insurance provider. The answer is deeply connected to my philosophy of healing.

I believe people are far more than a diagnosis. While diagnoses can sometimes be helpful for communication and accessing care, they rarely capture the complexity, resilience, and humanity of a person's story. Healing is not something that can be standardized or rushed. Meaningful change unfolds within the safety of a trusting relationship, and each person's journey deserves the freedom to move at its own pace. Insurance reimbursement generally requires assigning a mental health diagnosis and documenting treatment according to medical necessity and utilization review processes. While these systems provide important access to care for many people, they do not fully align with the way I understand deep relational healing.

I am committed to offering sliding scale options to make quality care accessible to all.

Choosing to remain a private-pay practice allows me to focus on you rather than your diagnosis, your goals rather than externally defined treatment metrics, and the therapeutic relationship rather than administrative requirements. Together, we decide what healing looks like and how long that journey should take.

Whether you are navigating trauma, relationship challenges, grief, anxiety, life transitions, burnout, or simply longing to feel more connected to yourself and others, I strive to offer a space where every part of you is welcome. I honor both the science of psychotherapy and the wisdom of the body, recognizing that meaningful transformation occurs when insight, nervous system regulation, authentic connection, and compassionate curiosity come together.

Ultimately, I believe healing happens in relationship—with ourselves, with others, with our bodies, with nature, and with the deeper wisdom that lives within each of us. My hope is that our work together helps you move beyond symptom management toward a life of greater freedom, authenticity, and connection.

Not because therapy changes who you are, but because it helps you remember who you have always been.

With deep gratitude and respect for the journey,
